The Baltimore City Fire Department (BCFD) Office of the Fire Marshal offers training and educational programs to help improve fire and life safety in the community.

Public Education Services
Hands-Only CPR Training
BCFD offers free Hands-Only CPR training to help community members respond to cardiac emergencies.
- A life-saving skill recommended by the American Heart Association
- Used for teens and adults in out-of-hospital settings (home, work, school)
- Maryland State Law: Required training for all high school students before graduation
EMS Presentation & Health Information
Led by BCFD EMS facilitators, the Building Education and Awareness Team (BEAT) provides health education on:
- Hypertension
- Diabetes
- Cardiac Disease
- Asthma
- Heat-Related Illnesses
Includes educational materials on symptoms, risk factors, prevention, and treatment.
EMS Standby (Event Support)
Community groups, businesses, and event organizers can request a BCFD medic unit for community events or resource fairs.

- Q&A with EMTs & Paramedics
- Engagement with event participants
Career Presentations
BCFD Educators and BEAT (Building Education and Awareness Team) members provide career insights at:

Fire Truck/Fire Engine Requests
Schools, businesses, and community organizations can request a Fire Truck or Fire Engine (subject to availability) for events.

Note: Fire Trucks and Fire Engines remain in service and may need to leave for 911 emergencies but will return if possible.
